I am a calligrapher. I use a lot of color and pen/ink
enhancement in my work .My wife and I work together in the layout and design
of each piece . Mary Ann does most of the color and I do the calligraphy.
We show and sell our originals as well as prints. The price range for the
originals are from $50.00 to $400.00. The price range on prints are from
$15.00 to $30.00 matted and from $37.00 to$125.00 framed.
We have a large selection of mat colors and fames that
are design to go well any with any home or office decor. We do all of our
work including cutting the mats and building the frames. The theme of our
calligraphy is inspirational and uplifting and sometimes humorous .Many
of the pieces make an excellent choioe as giflcs for weddings, house warming
and birthdays.
I studied Commercial Art at Auburn University in the late 50's and
early 60 s. My main interest was in lettering and the study of the alphabet.
In 1961 I left Auburn to meet my military obligation ( the Army reserve
was activated due to the Cuban Crisis ) and from there I entered the steel
manufacturing industry. My interest stayed with me during the thirty plus
years I was in steel and I would enter and show/sell my calligraphy at
local and regional art/crafl shows.
For the last seven years, since my retirement, my wife and I have participated
in many fine art and craft shows. These shows include the St. Iames Court
( Third Street Assoc. ), Yellow Daisy Festival, Stone Mountain, Ga.; Mt.
Dora Arts & Crafts, Mt. Dora, Fl; Greater Gulf Coast Art Festival,
Pensacola, Fl; Mayfest, Allentown, Pa, Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce
Show, Fairhope, Al . and Richmond Art in the Park, Richmond, Va.

a Merit Award at Festival in the Park . Montgomery, Al .and in 1995 Purchase
